Maui Wedding WeddingWire Bride Choice Award

Maui wedding professional honored with WeddingWire.com Bride's Choice Award BadgeI just received as a good news as any Maui wedding professional can receive. WeddingWire.com has awarded Live Maui Webcasts and DVD the 2012 Bride’s Choice Award! That means we’ve received the best reviews from past brides and grooms and are in the top 5 percentile of thousands and thousands of WeddingWire professionals.

We are honored to receive this recognition and take it as validation of the Maui wedding work we do and the people we serve. As outlined in our Maui wedding mission statement, we focus our service attention on:

  • our brides and grooms;
  • their viewing audience;
  • our wedding coordinators;
  • our video team.

WeddingWire.com Awards Us with Bride's Choice Award for 2012. An honor for any Maui wedding pro.

Maui wedding Ohana: Thank you!

Thank you to all our extended Maui wedding professional Ohana, to all our awesome brides and grooms and their super cool viewing audience with whom we get to share the love and excitement at every wedding via the chatroom. This award does not happen in a vacuum and we have so many to thank for it.

We love our work and do the best we can every day to spread happiness, creativity, reliability and value to people’s lives.

How are the WeddingWire.com Bride’s Choice Award winners determined?
The WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards ™ recognizes the top local wedding professionals from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism. Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the organization, the WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards™ are awarded solely based on the reviews from over 1.2 million newlyweds. Awards are determined by a combination of four factors: Overall rating (quality), total number of reviews (quantity), review performace from 2011 (recency), and consistency of reviews from year to year (consistency). This year’s recipients represent the top 5% of WeddingWire’s vendor community, across all service categories and all regions throughout the US and Canada.

US Weekly Features Our Photo

No, no, we were not shooting a celebrity Maui wedding video, nor were we paparazzi hanging out in the bushes with long lenses shooting celebrities down in Wailea. Nope, we were actually called upon by the Four Seasons Resort Maui to do the photo shoot of a yoga retreat they were hosting and whose Hollywood Star Power included Vanessa Hudgens (who has starred in various musicals and Disney Movies) and Perrey Reeves of the hit series Entourage, as well as Old School and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

And yes, there actually were paparazzi in the bushes that day. It sure felt good to be “the official photographers!”

Here is a photo of Vanessa published in US Weekly Magazine October 3rd:

This shot came quite organically. Vanessa is naturally bubbly and gave us many looks, always having fun with it. The setting was tough though, since the assignment was to be handled at around 2:00-4:00PM, which of course meant the sun was high up in the sky and the trade winds were whipping through. Luckily, we were blessed with some clouds that rolled in to take out the harsh shadows. We then threw a gold reflector on her face and that’s the image which came out.

The actual Vanessa Hudgens image we took.

You may be asking yourself: what’s the deal? Do you do video or photo? The answer is: we do Maui wedding videos and webcasts, however, every-so-often, when we’re asked to do still photography for a select few clients, we oblige.

We recommend a handful of photographers here on Maui for weddings, so give us a call and we’ll share those with you!

Live Maui Webcasts Featured on Local TV

A few months ago, OC16′s Hawaii Wedding Professionals show came to Maui and interviewed Live Maui Webcasts on their Maui Wedding service. Kalehua Featheran (based out of Oahu) and I chatted a bit about life on Maui, the service and for whom it’s best suited.

The show will air the following dates and times:

Repeats - Saturday 2/5/2011 at 12:30am and 1:30pm

Friday 2/11/2011 at 9am

From the Hawaii Wedding Professional Press Release:

This is the final show of the series featuring Maui wedding professionals.  Host Kahu Kalehua Featheran and the crew traveled to the southern end of Maui, to a beautiful place called Honua Kai Lani in Makena.

Kalehua Featheran and I talking story in Makena

First guest, Stephan Boeker of Live Maui Webcasts came over to Maui from New York City about 11 years ago.  Seeking a change, he move to Paradise, and can’t imagine living anywhere else.  Stephan started by doing wedding photography and then began dabbling in video because he kept hearing the bride or groom saying, “how I wish mom and dad could be here”.  He looked for a way to fill this need and as the tools to do this started becoming available, he got into the business of live streaming weddings.

Kahu Kalehua commented that lots of local people relocate to places all around the world and so this business is not only for destination couples, but for local couples, too.   Stephan recently did a wedding on the north shore of Maui for a bride from California and a groom from Samoa.  He said people living anywhere where there is reasonable connection and reasonable band width can see the wedding ceremony live.

Stephan meets with the couples and asks them if they want it live streamed or on demand?  There is a time difference so in some places, being a live broadcast is not as important; for others it is.  Also, a chat room can be set up so those viewing the webcast can also be talking to one another.  For couples who only wish to have certain people viewing the webcast, passwords can be provided to keep it private.  In Stephan’s best package, he provides the live webcast, it streams worldwide live or on demand, it can be viewed at a later date from the archives, the couple gets a fully edited DVD which includes interview of the couple and guests.  The differentiating factor between Live Maui Webcasts and others is that Stephan likes asking deep probing questions of the bride and groom so when they watch the DVD years from now, they can see and hear what they were thinking.

We will post the segment once we get it!

Live Maui Webcasts on Good Morning Texas

As part of the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas and Good Morning Texas’ Ultimate Wedding Give-Away last summer, the Four Seasons Resort Maui contacted Live Maui Webcasts to produce, direct, shoot, and edit a piece that was to highlight the honeymoon prize component. A lucky Texas couple won the wedding of a lifetime valued at somewhere around $100,000 PLUS a honeymoon on Maui at the unparalleled Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea.

The Director of Marketing as well as the Regional VP of Four Seasons Hawaii worked with us on set and we then edited the piece on Final Cut Pro and our Mac Pro edit bay. The Maui honeymoon video aired on Good Morning Texas in August.

Live Maui Webcasts in Martha Stewart Weddings

Martha Stewart Weddings, December 2010

On May 1st of 2010 Live Maui Webcasts and Video provided a live internet wedding broadcast on the North Shore of Maui for April and Kerisimasi. We beamed it out all over the world with people watching in California to Europe and all the way down to Samoa, where the groom is from. We also produced their wedding DVD.

Later on that autumn, Martha Stewart Weddings and Dream Honeymoons would feature that very same wedding in their November Edition under REAL WEDDINGS. Touting the live webcast, the article mentions,

“One thing I learned: Live-webcast your wedding for the people who can’t make the trip. It’s a really thoughtful way to include them.”

We invite prospective brides and grooms to discover the lifetime of memories that can be shared at your Maui wedding with a live wedding internet broadcast.
